STARLIT makes its international debut in Milan with the Spring/Summer 2025 collection
Designer Summer Starlit Prim's brand draws on a fascination with the greats of the past to reinterpret classics in a contemporary way.
Starlit is the brand of Summer Starlit Prim , a designer with a background in Interior Design, who started this new adventure dedicated to fashion and inspired by the past in 2020. In fact, the fascination that the creative feels (and “undergoes”) for the great couturiers represents a constant influence that accompanies her in the conception of her collections. Coco Chanel , Marc Bohan , Hubert de Givenchy , but also legendary Hollywood divas such as Rita Hayworth and Katharine Hepburn , guide Prim and her creativity. The latter has also been shaped by her passion for collecting vintage garments, so much so that her archive is made up of around five hundred very high-profile and priceless garments.
"I was in my freshman year of high school in California when she took me to a vintage shop where I bought a vintage Chanel coat, a real revelation. From that moment I started researching starting with Mademoiselle Coco and then discovered that there was a whole world of wonderful dresses, the best of couture and Hollywood stage costumes, to collect, but above all to protect and preserve. There began the great love story with the highest quality fashion that led me to create Starlit in 2020."
All this spurred her to present her Spring/Summer 2025 collection in Milan, for its international debut, thus confirming her goal, now very clear: to create timeless garments , capable of overcoming the passing of the years and being passed down from generation to generation. A collection in which quality stands out, both for the daytime proposals and for those designed for evening and cocktail occasions, among fine lace, hand-sewn sequins, marabou inserts and all-over floral embroidery. The references to the past, from Halston to Givenchy, are thus reworked to return with a contemporary freshness, demonstrating how the greatness of those references is actually impervious to the passage of time.
"All our looks are produced in Italy by companies accustomed to working only with the big guys," explains the founder, "and it couldn't be otherwise. Starlit has a very different approach to hit-and-run trends. The fabrics, the shapes, the decorations, everything is designed to enter the customers' wardrobes and stay there. They are cornerstones of elegance and I like the idea that they can then pass from hand to hand, just like what happened with the vintage pieces in my archive."
